From above, the Timor Sea coastline reveals a quiet masterpiece — a ribbon of golden sand weaving between river and sea, etched with the ancient paths of Flatback turtles. The aerial perspective softens the harsh isolation of this remote Kimberley shore, transforming it into something poetic, almost dreamlike.
The river winding from inland like a brushstroke, feeds life into a fragile ecosystem where it meets the sea. Here, under the moonlight, female Flatback turtles return to nest — as they have for millennia — carving delicate tracks in the sand (can you see them?) before vanishing once more into the tides.
The shapes left behind are fleeting, erased by the wind and waves, but from above they tell a story: the story of survival, instinct, and a deep connection between creature and country.
